Bakuriani, a settlement in the south-west part of Georgia, is located on 1700 m. above sea level. It dates back from the end of 19th century, while being noticed by Russian Royal Family members, not far from famous Borjomi mineral waters. Gustav Eiffel was invited to build a bridge for a railway leading up to Bakuriani from Borjomi. The train, called Kukushka, goes up and down through picturesque countryside every day.
Modern Bakuriani serves tourists in winter and in summer. In winter it mainly attracts skiers, while in summer it’s popular for family holidays and trekking. It is famous for its fresh air, forests, amazing views, etc.
