Starting from 1 February 2021, Georgia reopens borders for different countries.
Vaccinated individuals: Foreign citizens arriving by air from any country may be unconditionally admitted to Georgia if they present a COVID-19 vaccine certificate confirming receipt of two full doses of the vaccine and will not need to meet any other COVID-related entry rules.
Unvaccinated visitors from EU member States, Israel, Switzeland, Norway, USA, UK, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Kirgisistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, should present a negative PCR test result taken within the past 72 hours, get a follow-up PCR test at their own expense on the third day after arrival in Georgia, complete an application form with contact details and travel history if the last 14 days.

Tourist Agency “Meet in Georgia” attended the travel fair OTDYKH-2017, which was held in Moscow on September 19-21. The Republic of Georgia has officially took part in the travel fair for the second time.
New hotel “IOTA” has opened in the heart of Tbilisi. The hotel is a good choise for people from creative industries. The hotel offers 90 rooms with interesting décor, restaurant “Garden”, restaurant “Ghumeli”, located at the roof top terrace and a conference hall. There is also a vertical garden on the 300 sq.m of the hotel.

Georgian alphabet is on UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity! Both of three Georgian alphabets - Mrgvlovani, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli - still remain in use today, which describes Georgian culture as “living culture of three writing systems”. Each alphabet has its own cultural and social function, which emphasizes Georgia’s identity and diversity of traditions.

Year by year Black Sea Jazz festival gathers stars from all over the world in Batumi. This year, festival as a part of new Check in Georgia project was held on 15-24 of July and was especially energetic and interesting. In the frames of the festival music lovers saw: Ms. Lauryn Hill, Prodigy, Jamie Cullum, Miles Electric Band, Nik West, Basta Rhymes and Macy Gray. Apart from foreign musicians, Georgian performers also gave concerts at Batumi Colonnades.
Tourst agency “Meet in Georgia” chose winner for the presentation “Creative Tourism” at the conference “Tourism Development Prospects in Georgia and World Experience” held on 15th of April, in Tbilisi. On the 30th of January, long awaited opening of Z. Paliashvili State Theatre of Opera and Ballet was held with the “Abesalom and Eteri” opera, directed by Giso Jordania. The building was closed since 2010 for restoration, and now, one of the main culture heritages of Georgia is brought to life, with new Opera and Ballet performances.

On the 10-11th of October, Tbilisi hosted the first international „Caucasian Cheese 2015” festival. The festival took place in Rike Park, where cheese producers from Georgian different regions of Georgia, as well as producers from Azerbaijan and Armenia, all together displayed over 60 types of cheese.
On the 4th of October, Georgia has officially celebrated Georgian Wine Day for the second time. Events took place in different parts of Georgia, with wine-tasting, concerts with Georgian and international music, films about wine grape history in Georgia, wine shops and shops with handmade souvenirs.
On the 11th of August, Tbilisi hosted UEFA Super Cup for the first time in its history. The match took place on Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi, where FC Barcelona faced Sevilla FC. FC Barcelona has won the game 5:4 and claimed their fifth Super Cup title. For Tbilisi it was one of the most important evens of the summer.

The Government of Georgia has successfully signed an agreement on visa-free regimes with Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Visa-free regime is support the development of tourism and business between these countries. Georgia also has visa-free regime with Brasil, Colombia, Panama and Ecuador.
On May 26 for the first time, Greece officially handed the Olympic flame to Georgia. This symbol of European Youth Olympic Festival, which starts July 25th in Tbilisi, first arrived to Batumi. The Olympic torch will be transported across the 67 municipalities of Georgia, and only then arrive to Tbilisi. About 3,000 youth athletes from 49 European countries will take part in EYOF 2015 in Tbilisi, and participate in nine sports: judo, tennis, artistic gymnastics, track cycling, track and field athletics, swimming, volleyball, handball and basketball.
The ancient Georgian alphabet has been granted the national status of cultural heritage. Georgian is written in its own unique script that once described as one of the most beautifully written languages in the world. The National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia would approach UNESCO and nominate the Georgian language to appear on its prestigious world intangible cultural heritage list.
E-visa portal was launched, which enables the foreigners travelling to Georgia for tourism and bushiness purposes to receive a Georgian visa without visiting Consular Office of Georgia. For more information please visit web-portal www.evisa.gov.ge
Opening of the winter season in ski resorts of Georgia will not rely on the weather any longer. The ski runs in Gudauri and Bakuriani will be provided with artificial snow coverage, which will increase the number of the tourists, as well as resort revenues. The opening of the season is planned on 20th December.
Aeroflot – Russian Airlines announced the resumption of regular air traffic between Moscow and Tbilisi. Daily flights from the airport Sheremetjevo are performed by Airbus A320. Departure from Moscow at 23:20, arrival in Tbilisi at 03:10. The plane leaves Tbilisi at 04:20 and lands in Moscow at 06:05. (local time).

The 22nd music festival “Autumn in Tbilisi” will fascinate visitors again with its diverse concerts of classical music, folk and jazz. The festival will be held from 21st September to 18th October. The guests of the festival are famous musicians from all over the world.
Flights to mountainous Svaneti have been renewed. Three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) from Natakhtari Airport (30 km from Tbilisi) to Mestia. Airliner L 410 (made in Czech Republic) for 15 passengers. Flight lasts 45 minutes.
In Ortachala District, in Tbilisi, a new 4* hotel has opened. It offers guests 59 rooms, restaurant, lounge-bar, spa-center with indoor swimming pool, sauna and hammam.
